U23 in Ukraine 2020 – be there, do that!
Due to the WMF U23 World Cup due to happen in June 2020, we wanted to have a sneak peek at the organizational plan and what surprises there will be.

Are you ready to host the U23 WC and what preparations do you do currently?
So far, we have been working very closely with the leadership of Kyiv municipality preparing the wonderful location for this tournament. It also should be a test for World Cup 2021 next year. There will be a big fan zone where many supporters can come not only to watch matches but also participate in different sport games, chill-out zone, etc. It will be a big holiday and a festival of sport in Kyiv.
Who are the most significant supporters of the Cup and what kind of media coverage will there be?
We are thankful to Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko and to his 1st vice mayor Mykola Povoroznyk who helped us a lot. Definitely this Tournament will be on one of the Ukrainian National TV channels, but also it will be a good stream for every country that wants to have it.
What are the characteristics of the venue (Kontraktova Square)?
Kontraktova Square is a place in the historic Podil neighborhood of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The square is an important economic, cultural, and transport center of the Podil, containing numerous architectural and historical monuments.
Today, the Kontraktorva Square is an important center of the Podil neighborhood, and also a recreational, cultural and transportation point of the city.
The square is often used for various outdoor public festivities, including music concerts and fairs. The Petro Sahaidachnyi Street which leads to the square is limited to pedestrians on weekends.
U23 will definitely open the doors of this place, so we can all hit it for the WMF World Cup, so both 2020 and 2021: ready, steady, go!
